Jaipur -
Summary
After a few ‘warmers’ in the old favourite, Weatherspoons, we strolled over to the impressive Jaipur building, already an MK landmark and rightly so.
As always, the restaurant was spotless and the staff polite and immaculate in their colourful uniforms. Then came the first shock, it was virtually empty (recession?), then the second, a new and small menu which doesn’t have the traditional categories, e.g. Madras, Balti, etc, or even the regular lamb and chicken, but just a list of meals available. This is unusual, not saying its wrong, but it was even difficult to represent on the common curry as some items just weren’t there! In fact I was so busy trying to match items from the menu that the waiter didn’t take my main course order. My fault or his?
The food was very well cooked and presented. The Salmon Dillwala starter is highly recommended as are the lamb chops, both getting top marks. The main courses were also above average, very tasty, well served and using different cuts of meat, e.g. Lamb shank, which is also a very pleasant change. The rice and nan bread, however, were only average.
The chef did us the honour of visiting the table and providing three ‘taster’ dishes

Our vegetarian member found the menu strange but very tasty with large, filling portions.
In summary, the Jaipur is a very classy restaurant providing very high quality food,
