Mysore - June 2010

Summary

A trip to Newport for a curry wouldn’t be the same without first visiting The Coachmakers. A lovely evening so we ventured into the garden to take in the local sites.

Looking forward to this meeting, as we hadn’t been to the Mysore for some time, some members not at all, and good reports had been received from various sources.

Once again, I’m afraid we were let down with slow service, the restaurant was far from full so there should be no excuses. Added to this the food quality was very varied and members reports showed it was all a bit ‘hit and miss’.

A very nice room, or rooms, as there are some intimate corners where diners can enjoy their meal in relative peace while larger groups, such as ours, can locate in the larger room which is decorated brightly and has a good ambiance.

The staff were very friendly, as was the manager, who let us photograph the kitchen and chefs. The regulars on neighbouring tables were also very friendly and enjoyed discussing our club with us.

Summary - Overall a disappointment as much was expected from this restaurant.

Common Curry - Good portions at an average price.

No certificate awarded.
