Naidni - November 2008
Summary
The Naidni (nay-id-nee or nade-nee) take your pick, its still Indian backwards. Located
in Stony Stratford it has a lot of competition but this restaurant came out very
well overall and may well be the best in Stony at the moment. This is borne out by
its current position in the Review table.
There seems to be a lot of negative comments below, because the club now expects
very high standards, but don’t let this detract from the good points, of which there
are many. These would include very friendly and attentive service from the manager
and staff and a cleanliness that was so good it was mentioned by several members.
So confident was the restaurant, that it allowed us into the kitchen to photograph
the chefs at work.
Service was a little slow between starter and main course, something that now seems
to be the norm. In there defence we were a group of thirteen and there were two other
large groups also in the restaurant at pretty much the same time. Waiting a bit longer
is acceptable as long as the wait is worthwhile, which it was , but because of the
large group and the time taken to get all the food on the table the restaurant really
should provide food heaters to keep the food warm, as we found, it did cool down
very quickly.
The Naidni was good value for money and came out well in the Common Curry total.
While not outstanding, the overall experience was very good and most of us would
return.
